Biologically Active was founded by Liam Faller and Myriam Solar in 2015. We wanted to cover issues of biology that are in the news, as well as recent papers that might be of interest to people. With this blog we hope to help people understand the various biological stories that appear in the media, and to learn how separate the rubbish from the real science.
If there’s anything you’d like us to write about, or you’ve got any questions or comments, please drop us a message using the contact tab.
Liam is an Irish scientist based in Amsterdam where he runs a research group studying colon cancer (you can find his lab website here and his institution website here). He has wide-ranging interests in science in general, and is often (rightly) called a geek. If he is not in the lab he can be found on a heavily loaded bike, meandering around the countryside. He also cooks a good curry. You can follow him on Twitter @liamfaller.
As of 2016, Myriam has had other work commitments, so has taken a back seat on this blog. She is looking forward to the day when she is less busy and can start writing again!
